•                     CCAS will participate through Saturday, October 15, 2022, at the shelter (located at 4030 S Airport Rd, Inverness, FL 34450)
•                     Adoption fees are reduced to $10, or waived with the donation of a 6lb+ bag of pet food
•                     All interested adopters can find more details online at www.citrusbocc.com

“Shelters across the nation are in crisis with overcrowding, and our neighbors to the south have the additional toll of devastation from Hurricane Ian,” said Colleen Yarbrough, CCAS Director. “This amazing organization has stepped up big time to help ease the burden and make adoption events possible in these hard times.”

BISSELL Pet Foundation’s “Empty the Shelters” event is the largest funded adoption event in the country. With a goal of encouraging more families to choose adoption, this lifesaving effort has helped nearly 118,000 pets find loving homes since 2016. “Empty the Shelters” is BISSELL Pet Foundation’s largest program, partnering with a total of 541 animal welfare organizations in 47 states and Canada to reduce adoption fees.

Adoption is a lifetime commitment. BISSELL Pet Foundation and CCAS urge families to do their research about the pet they are interested in adopting, as well as adoption requirements.
