Citrus County Animal Shelter Community Cat Program to be Suspended for Holidays

CCAS will be closed to the public on Friday, December 24, 2021, and Saturday, December 25, 2021. Normal hours of operation will resume Tuesday, December 28, 2021. The TNVR program will resume on Tuesday, January 4, 2022.

It is recommended that healthy cats found outside are left alone during the period services are suspended at the shelter. Nationally, only 2% of cats are picked up by their owners when they end up in shelters but are up to 13 times more likely to make it home when allowed to remain in the community. Please allow these cats the best chance of finding their way home.

A special thanks to the volunteers, fosters, and community partners who support CCAS, the shelter, and the TNVR program each year. If you have any questions or concerns during the program suspension, please call the shelter at (352) 746-8400.
