Citrus County Growth Management Announces Public Input Opportunity for 486 Interchange

The third Suncoast Parkway interchange at CR 486, which is currently under construction, will change how residents and visitors experience this area of Citrus County.

Citrus County is just beginning to develop standards for the CR 486 Interchange Management Area (IMA). The County has partnered with professional planning and design consultants to develop Comprehensive Plan amendments to establish goals, objectives, and policies for the CR 486 IMA. The County and the consultant team will also update the Land Development Code (LDC) to implement those policies once adopted.

Your input in this process is critical in determining the Comprehensive Plan policies and associated LDC regulations that guide future development along CR 486. An introductory public meeting to discuss the CR 486 IMA will be held at the YMCA, located at 4127 West Norvell Bryant Highway, Lecanto, FL 34461, from 5:30pm – 7:00pm on Wednesday, August 24, 2022.

This will be an open house event, so that citizens may come and go at their convenience. There will be several small-group stations to discuss various components of the built environment, including architecture, site design, landscaping, signage, and land uses. This is not a public hearing. The purpose of the meeting is to gather public input regarding the CR 486 IMA.
