The City of Brooksville is now accepting applications from individuals interested in volunteering their time to serve as a member.

City of Brooksville Announces Advisory Board Vacancies

They are looking for members of the following advisory board or commission.:

Current available position: These positions are available immediately.

  • Good Neighbor Trail Advisory Committee – Two (2) full-time positions with no term expirations.
  • Planning and Zoning Commission (Must be City residents) – One (1) position on the Planning and Zoning Commission (TBD if full time or alternate) for an unexpired 4-year term of office through December 31, 2025.

These positions are available January 1, 2024

  • Cemetery Advisory Committee (Must be City resident or have documented ties to Cemetery) – One (1) full time position for 4-year term of office through December 31, 2027.
  • Beautification Board – Three (3) full time positions for 4-year terms of office through December 31, 2027.
  • Great Brooksvillian Screening Committee – Five (5) full time positions for a 1-year term of office through December 31, 2024.
  • Planning and Zoning Commission (Must be City residents) – Three (3) full time positions for 4-year terms of office through December 31, 2027.
  • Parks and Recreation Advisory Board – One (1) alternate position for a 4-year term of office through December 31, 2027
  • Charter Review Committee (Must be City residents) – Seven (7) positions for the Charter Review Committee which is a short-term committee from January – May, 2024.

Resumes alone will not be accepted. An application form may be obtained from the office of the City Clerk or the City of Brooksville website and must be completed and returned to the City Clerk’s Office at 201 Howell Ave.

  • Positions are open until filled.

  • All applicants for these volunteer positions must be registered voters in the State of Florida.
  • A background check will be required on any applicant.
  • Please submit the Advisory Board Application by December 1, 2023 to allow time for process and background check approval.
