The City of Zephyrhills held it’s seasonal ‘Neighborhood Clean-Up’ this past Saturday, April 9, 2022.

The residential community clean-up target area was Gall Blvd to 12^th Street; and, 12^th Avenue to 5^th Avenue, in Zephyrhills.

Approximately 15 Zephyrhills Public Works employees were on hand to assist with check-ins, roving clean-up in alleyways of target areas, and facilitate the drop-off site at Zephyrhills City Hall, 5335 8^th Street.

Numerous items were disposed of throughout the four-hour morning shift, including tires, electronics, appliances, yard debris, mattresses and more.

The City used a series of pay loaders and 30-yard roll-off dumpsters to collect unwanted items.

The general idea of the City’s clean-up program is to help alleviate various Code Enforcement issues in certain areas, and the municipality at-large.

This amnesty clean-up program is an investment the City makes in beautifying the community, as Zephyrhills Public Works funds all tipping fees from the event.

The City’s Neighborhood Clean-Up program was established in 2015, in collaboration with the City’s Public Works, Code Enforcement and Community Redevelopment Agency; the City looks to organize these events three times a year.

Zephyrhills Public Works Director Shane LeBlanc says, “We get a lot of variety. We get old televisions, appliances, tires, construction debris, tree limbs — basically debris that people can’t get rid of on their own. It’s a good opportunity for the residents to get rid of their unwanted items.”
