Due to the support of CoreCivic, Sertoma Club has made a generous donation to Sertoma Camp
Endeavor for the 2022 camp season.

Making the CoreCivic check presentation to incoming club president Marian Nosal and outgoing presidents Maureen Tambasco and Mary Avery was CoreCivic’s assistant warden and club member Denise Davidson at the club’s regular meeting June 1, 2022.
CoreCivic’s donation of $1,246.40 enhanced the $2,000 grant already secured for this year’s camp
season from Sertoma National for ASL trained counselor and staff salaries, along with the local club
donation of $5,000 and two camper scholarships for a total of $8,646.40.
Sertoma Camp Endeavor is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization. The camp experience runs for two weeks
every summer, at the camp location in Dundee, Florida. They pride themselves on being an inclusive
camp that uses ASL (American Sign Language) as the primary mode of communication. The majority of
youth campers and staff are fluent in ASL and spend the week engaging in all the traditional camp

Citrus Sertoma Club 2.0 works hard throughout the year to give monetarily and with their time to Camp
Endeavor, a 501c3 summer camp for deaf and hard of hearing children; Kids Deaf Baseball Camp at the
Villages; Sertoma Youth Ranch which provides youth groups from all over Florida the opportunity to
enjoy the outdoors at no charge, including physically and mentally challenged children, and the Sertoma

Foundation mobile audiology van out of New Port Richey which provides pediatric hearing screenings
and evaluations at local daycares and preschools, along with fitting and dispensing hearing aids. The
foundation’s focus is rural and under-served communities. The Foundation has screened over 23,000
children and 200 plus adults in the greater Tampa region, which includes Citrus County.
And of course, the Club gives back right here in Citrus County in many ways including donations to the
Boy Scouts and our Citrus County School District by adopting classrooms each year and providing
funding for the Family Resource Center, C.H.I.P.S., and F.F.R.A.
