Citrus County Names Public Information Officer to Lead New Communications Department

Veronica is a 12-year employee of the Citrus County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), beginning her career at the Citrus County Library System in 2008. She transferred in 2016 to the Visitors & Convention Bureau to act as Industry Relations liaison.

Her education includes an Associate’s degree and a Bachelor’s in Business and Organizational Management from the College of Central Florida. Kampschroer is an active community member participating in many boards and committees, including the Citrus County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

Veronica’s first task at hand will be to create the County’s first Communications Team, which was approved by the BOCC at their regular meeting on January 5, 2021. The team will consist of Veronica as PIO, an existing Web Administrator, and a newly created Audio Visual Technician position.

The new position will be funded by eliminating contracts for services currently provided by outside vendors. The development of this office will assist the County in expanding its communications services and enhancing citizen interactions.

Veronica can be reached at the Citrus County Administration office, 352-527-5484.
