Citrus County’s Friends of the Community Centers, Inc. (“Friends”) are a non-profit organization that operates to enhance our community centers.

Friends of the Community Centers Celebrate Donation Milestone

Each year in March, the group presents a check to Citrus County Support Services for their Meals on Wheels program, which helps to feed our local homebound seniors. Since 2011, the group has donated more than $50,000 to this worthy cause.

The funds are proceeds from sales at the Circle of Friends Gift Shop, located in the Citrus County Resource Center at 2804 W Marc Knighton Ct, Lecanto. The gift shop is open 10:00am to 2:00pm, Monday through Friday, and operated entirely by volunteers.

Citrus County Support Services has been delivering meals to the homebound through the Meals on Wheels program since 1979. Due to the overwhelming need for service, the program’s dedicated volunteer drivers now deliver over 400 meals each day, Monday through Friday, to Citrus County’s senior citizens.
