At its regular meeting on November 16, 2021, the Hernando County Board of County Commission (BOCC) voted to adopt the ordinance adopting new County commission districts.

There are five County commission districts in Hernando County and each district is as nearly equal in proportion to population size as possible. Due to population increases, the new County commission districts reflect boundary changes that allow for proportionate population size to be maintained. The population distribution for each district is as follows:

  • District 1 – 38,496
  • District 2 – 38,629
  • District 3 – 38,512
  • District 4 – 39,502
  • District 5 – 39,376

The new County commission districts are currently in effect as of the adoption date. The five Hernando County Board of County Commissioners are elected to four-year terms by the voters at large and represent the geographical district in which they reside.

  • District 1 – Elizabeth Narverud
  • District 2 – Wayne Dukes
  • District 3 – John Allocco
  • District 4 – Jeff Holcomb
  • District 5 – Steve Champion

Citizens can look up what County Commissioner represents their district by utilizing the Hernando County Property Appraiser’s interactive map to search for their property address in the top left corner. Once the parcel is located, expand the ‘Political Officers’ section and the last name listed is the district’s representative commissioner.
