Several members of the New Port Rotary Club turned out to help cook and serve the teachers of Richey Elementary  to show their appreciate for the work they do teaching especially during this difficult time.

New Port Richey Rotary Club Treats Teachers at Elementary to an Appreciation Breakfast

Early in the morning before the new school began several members of the New Port Richey club gathered just outside the school’s cafeteria setting up a serving table of coffee, juice and fruit while other members made pancakes from scratch and frying sausage patties.

Rotarians cooking and serving were Amanda Hart, Brent Simon, Gail Armstrong, Lisa Shippy-Gonzalez, John Herig, Carol Parris, Mike Hroch, Bill Bunting, Tim Wilfong  and Marilynn deChant.  Arlene Brock from the Spartan Manor also volunteered. Nearly 100 teachers enjoyed a tasty Rotary breakfast.  The principal at Richey Elementary, Amy Denney-Haskedakeas, is also a member of the club.
 
Greg Smith chaired the event and also brought along his grandson, Josh, who enjoyed serving the teachers on the line. Greg said that the club has been doing this breakfast at Richey Elementary for the past five years.
 

The New Port Richey Rotary Club was established in 1959 and meets on Wednesday for lunch at noon at the Spartan Manor in New Port Richey. The club’s current president is Amanda Hart.
