Aaron Pool Named Development Services Director

Aaron Pool was recently named the Development Services Director for Hernando County Government.

Pool leads a team of staff focused on encouraging quality development and maintaining community standards in Hernando County. The Department consists of the Planning and Zoning Division, Building Division, Code Enforcement Division, and TheBus public transit system.

Aaron Pool joined Hernando County Government in 2021. Prior to joining Hernando County, Aaron worked with and managed municipal operations in Florida, Illinois, and Washington. Pool earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Legal Studies from the University of Central Florida and his Juris Doctor from Southern Illinois University School of Law. He holds certifications in Code Enforcement, is a Certified Flood Plain Manager, and graduated Brevard County’s Executive Leadership Institute Class of 2017.

“My dedication to public service began as a Boy Scout where I obtained the rank of Eagle Scout,” said Development Services Director, Aaron Pool. “I also served four years in the United States Coast Guard before beginning a career in local government and obtaining formal education. With my background and experience, I am excited to provide momentum for multiple departments to enhance our county’s quality of life.”

“During Mr. Pool’s time with the County, he has taken great strides to cultivate the growth of the departments he has been working with,” said Hernando County Deputy Administrator Tobey Phillips. “We are excited to welcome him into his new role and look forward to his leadership.”
