The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded Angela Vick, Clerk to the BOCC and the Chief Financial Officer of Citrus County, the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting and for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting to Citrus County for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report; and the Popular Annual Financial Report, both for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2021.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. This award demonstrates the professional commitment and cooperative effort of numerous individuals and agencies as well as many hours of hard work.

Citrus County began participating in the Certificate Program for the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report in 1998 and has received this prestigious award every year.

The Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting award is a national award recognizing conformance with the highest standards for preparation of state and local government popular reports. In order to receive this Outstanding Achievement Award, a government unit must publish a Popular Annual Financial Report, whose contents conform to program standards of creativity, presentation, understandability and reader appeal.

Both of these awards reflect a high degree of dedication and focus by the Clerk’s Financial Leadership team represented by Chief of Staff Traci Phillips, Senior Financial Analyst Susan Sullivan, and Chief Deputy of Financial Services Shelley Sansone.
