During the December 4, 2023, Brooksville City Council meeting, the city council elected its Mayor and Vice Mayor. The newly elected that will serve through December 2024:

• Blake Bell, Mayor
• Christa Tanner, Vice Mayor

Per the Brooksville FL Code of Ordinance, “The council shall elect from among its members a mayor and a vice-mayor. Election of the mayor and vice-mayor shall be done annually at the first regular council meeting in December of each year. The mayor shall preside at meetings of the council, shall be recognized as head of city government for all ceremonial purposes, by the governor for purposes of military law, for service of process, execution of contracts, deeds and other documents, and as the city official designated to represent the city in all agreements with other governmental entities or certifications to other governmental entities, but shall have no administrative duties except as required to carry out the responsibilities herein.
