On Friday, March 24, 2023 – Friday, March 31, 2023, the Brooksville Gallery201 at the Brooksville City Hall would be pleased to have artists submit 3 pieces of your artwork painted or created while inspired by the “Florida Native”. There is bound to be much creative inspiration in creating work for such a theme. 

So anything Florida will be well suited for this exhibit. Just make it native!

What is a Florida native? Artwork ideas can be anything from native plants, animal species, and specific peoples to more creative submissions like paintings that serve as tributes to the Native land we live on. You may have a criterion that differs from the described and you can iterate on what it means to be a Floridian in the modern age, living in the present while remembering our past and walking into the future.

Here is your chance to hone into your creativity and shine, set the record straight, be bold, or even reserved by expressing subtleties. Dazzle Brooksville and beyond with your individual style and/or mastered techniques! 3-D Glass, Ceramics, Sculpture, Digital art also considered!

Call to Artists: Florida Native theme at Brooksville Gallery 201

Once the artwork is approved, artists must complete the entry form sent by email for the selected work. Dates for drop off of new exhibit artwork and pick of previous exhibit artwork will begin Friday, March 24, 2023, through Friday, March 31, 2023, between the hours of 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM. Hours outside of that timeframe are by appointment only.

The artwork must be submitted no later than Friday, March 31, 2023 (deadline for submissions), between 10:30am-2:30pm. We do have display cases to lock smaller items up in (for security).

All artwork must be gallery ready to hang, with a wire securely attached to the back or bottom of your work along with display cards. Information on the display cards include: title of piece, medium, artist, price. If the piece is not for sale, please state that also. Student work is welcome. 

Please note: The pick-up/drop off date will be Friday, March 24, 2023 – Friday, March 31, 2023, 10:30 am-2:30 pm. 

The reception for “Florida Native” will be Friday April 7, 2023, from 6:00pm-8:00pm – Music and Refreshments Provided
