Celebrate Locally Made Brews in Downtown New Port Richey October 21-29

New Port Richey, Florida – It was a mere five years ago that downtown New Port Richey saw its first brewery open.  Back then, it was unclear whether craft breweries would become a stakeholder in the historic and palm districts of the downtown.  Fast forward five years and downtown New Port Richey just saw its fourth brewery open earlier this summer!

More breweries have meant more people are visiting the revitalized area, leading to more people discovering all that downtown New Port Richey has to offer.

“We’ve come a long way in the past five years,” states Bryan Hackman, owner of Cotee River Brewing Company, “We were the first brewery to open in downtown. It was very lonely for a single brewery, but now we have four and we all love working to support each other.”

Breweries in Downtown New Port Richey to Showcase Locally Made Beers October 21-29

The breweries enjoy working together so much that they have created the 1st Downtown New Port Richey Brewery Week.  The weeklong event will feature each brewery and will begin on Saturday, October 21, and run through Sunday, October 29.

“We love being able to showcase our locally made brews,” states Rick Sommer, owner of Dented Keg Ale Works, the second brewery to open downtown, and the only brewery located in the area’s Palm District.  “We also love that we have a lot of people visiting our area for our breweries and then enjoying the rest of town.”

Each brewery featured as part of Downtown New Port Richey Brewery Week brews its own beer onsite, as well as bringing in regionally produced favorites.

“It’s important for us to showcase our own unique brews,” states James Bishop and Andy Kernaghan, co-owners of Infusion Brewing Company.  Infusion was previously located in Trinity but moved to downtown New Port Richey two years ago to be a part of the City’s revitalization efforts.  “For us, moving downtown was an easy decision.  We saw the concentration of businesses with other breweries and could tell that moving into downtown would create more traffic and comradery for us.”

Visit All Four New Port Richey Breweries and be Entered to Win the Brewery Gift Basket

New Port Richey Brewery Week

Working together to promote all four breweries has resulted in a card to be used during Brewery Week, where visitors visit each brewery, and purchase a 16 oz. pour or other designated beverage, then get their card stamped by the brewery.

Once all four breweries have been visited and the guest has their card complete, they drop the card at any of the breweries to be entered into a drawing for a chance to win the grand prize, the Brewery Gift Basket.  This year’s basket includes $25 gift certificates from each of the four breweries, and brewery swag, bringing the value of the basket to over $200.

“We are so excited about brewery week here in Downtown New Port Richey,” states Shannon Huddleston, owner of Emerald Coast Brewing, along with her partners, Sara Curl, Bob Curl, and Chris Curl.  “As the newest brewery opening in New Port Richey, we have been welcomed and had such a warm greeting by all who have visited us.  We are looking forward to more guests discovering our brewery and the others in our town.”

Cards to complete the brewery trail and be registered for the grand prize are free and can be picked up at any of the participating breweries beginning on Saturday, October 21. Completed cards must be turned in to any of the participating breweries by the close of business on Sunday, October 29.

In addition to visiting each brewery to fill out their card, guests can also enjoy the many activities the breweries are hosting throughout New Port Richey Brewery Week.
