Citrus County Animal Services Thanks Partners for Support

Since February, Citrus County Animal Services (CCAS) has been hard at work with their partners at Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) Animal Control to help overwhelmed citizens by finding homes for cats that were living in poor conditions. As of Thursday, March 17, 2022, CCAS has taken in 104 cats. This ongoing effort involves multiple large-scale cases, which means that many more cats will be coming to the animal shelter.

None of this would be possible without the help of our friends and community partners. Many of these cats have been transported (or transferred to) to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Florida, SPCA of Brevard, Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando, and Lake County Animal Services. As CCAS and CCSO continue to get cats out of their current situations and provide them with the care they need, these partners and more stand ready to assist in getting them into the homes they deserve.

For more information about CCAS or to learn more about available shelter pets, call (352) 746-8400.
