This project was suggested by District 3 Commissioner Ruthie Davis Schlabach as a needed benefit for the citizens of Citrus County. The first shelter was recently installed at the Central Ridge Library, located in Beverly Hills.
Six additional bus shelters will be installed at the following locations:

  • Coastal Region Library (Crystal River)
  • Lakes Region Library (Inverness)
  • Floral City Library
  • Historic Hernando School
  • Eagleton Park (Beverly Hills)
  • Meadowcrest Government Center (Crystal River)

These ADA-compliant shelters come equipped with a three-seat bench with divider rings, a locked trash
receptacle, and solar lighting. The bus shelters will be placed at existing deviated fixed route or door to
door stops but are also expected to be utilized by any resident waiting for any means of transportation.
