City of Brooksville Opens Sandbag Site

On May 25, 2023, the City of Brooksville Department of Public Works announced the opening of the City’s sandbag site on June 1, 2023, in preparation for the Hurricane Season.

City of Brooksville Sandbag Site to Open for Hurricane Season

Due to the arrival of Florida’s annual Hurricane Season, the City of Brooksville will open
the self-service sandbag site Thursday, June 1, 2023, at the Department of Public Works (DPW)
facility, 600 S. Brooksville Ave., Brooksville. The site is located just north of the facility.

The City filling stations will provide bags, sand, and shovels to fill the bags. This site will be open
24 hours a day and residents are required to fill and transport their sandbags.

The City encourages all citizens to make the necessary preparations and create a 72-hour
Disaster Survival Kit in anticipation of possible hurricane weather during this time.
