City of Inverness declares State of Emergency

Inverness officials declared a local state of emergency for the City regarding COVID-19 on March 16, 2020. In order to protect the health, safety, and welfare of its citizens the City has taken action.

Inverness City Hall is Open with Caution

City Hall is open and continuing to provide normal services such as sanitation, water & sewer, public works projects, building permits, public safety, and City Administration. However certain precautions are in place to reduce the risk to our staff and visitors. We ask that you please not visit City Hall if you are sick.

All departments have established operations plans and guidelines to ensure continuity of service.

COVID-19 Information

The City of Inverness has created a COVID-19 informational module on its website homepage Inverness-FL.gov

The City will develop a COVID-19 informational hotline for City residents at 352-341-7830 that will launch Wednesday, March 18, 2020. If you have symptoms or health concerns call the Florida Department of Health 24/7 call center 1-866-779-6121

City of Inverness officials continue to work closely with the Florida Department of Health, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and local emergency management officials to help navigate this difficult circumstance.

We urge everyone to be diligent and practice safe hygiene.

City utility bills can be paid online at Inverness-FL.gov, and/or use the payment drop box located in front of the Inverness Government Center, 212 W. Main Street, Inverness. Questions and concerns about your utility payment 352-726-5016

Inverness State of Emergency closes Facilities and Cancels or Postpones Scheduled Activities & Meetings

Effective immediately, the City has closed facilities and canceled events. Certain permitted activities and advisory board meetings have been canceled until further notice.

In an abundance of caution, the City of Inverness has declared a local state of emergency due to COVID-19. This had been done in order to protect the health, safety, and welfare of Inverness citizens and the community.

The City of Inverness is watching the situation carefully. It continues to remain open at the Inverness Government Center, 212 W. Main Street, Inverness.

Valerie Theatre Temporarily Closed

Effective immediately, the Valerie Theatre is closed until further notice. All movies and events have been postponed and will be rescheduled.
