Bicycle and pedestrian trail connects Pinellas Trail, coastal parks

A scenic, coastal stretch is slated to join Pasco County’s growing list of expansive trail offerings.  Pasco County Engineering Services will celebrate the start of construction for the Coastal Anclote Bicycle and Pedestrian Trail with a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at Anclote Gulf Park.

This new trail will connect a planned extension of the Pinellas Trail to Anclote River Park, Anclote Gulf Park and Key Vista Nature Park.

The Coastal Anclote Trail Groundbreaking Ceremony will be Wednesday, February 6, 2019, 10 a.m. at Anclote Gulf Park, 2305 Baillies Bluff Road, Holiday

Designed to have minimal impact, the majority of the Coastal Anclote Trail will travel through property acquired through Pasco County’s Environmental Lands Acquisition and Management Program (ELAMP), which seeks to enhance resource-based recreational opportunities through conservation.

The Coastal Anclote Trail Project is funded by the Penny for Pasco sales tax and anticipated to be complete in 2020.
