Christmas comes around more than just in December. For Healing Hearts Café in Zephyrhills, it came in May in the form of six cases of individually packaged Seattle’s Best coffee.

Community Organizations’ Donations Bring Support in the Nick of Time

Donated to the Greater Zephyrhills Chamber of Commerce by Moose Lodge community liaison Toys for
Tots representative, James Butz, the coffee was a blessing of abundance. “We had originally planned to
use them as giveaways for our East Pasco Chamber Foundation 2023 SharkCuterie fundraiser, but something in us knew there was an even better use for these gifts,” commented Heather Kline,
Marketing and Events Coordinator for the Chamber.

Turns out, the pay-it-forward donation was a miracle of timing. Kathy Pahl, Director of Healing Hearts
Café in Zephyrhills remarked, “We had literally just run out of coffee, and this filled that immediate and
urgent need.” Their team of volunteers went right to work, and every individual bag was opened and re-
packaged into larger gallon size plastic bags for daily brewing in preparation for breakfast service.

Healing Hearts Café is a local, non-profit 501(c)3 ministry that serves the homeless and economically
disadvantaged by providing meals, showers, and laundry services, as well as spiritual encouragement in
the form of daily devotions. The café also partners with other local community organizations to provide
various forms of support, such as housing and financial assistance.

“I’m glad these resources went to an organization that was able to share them with people who need
it,” remarked Mr. Butz. This isn’t the first time the Chamber has partnered with James through Toys for
Tots.

As a drop-off location for toys every winter, the Chamber acknowledged the active involvement of
James, the Moose Lodge, and the US Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program as their 2023 holiday
campaign raised $7,000-$8,000 to bring holiday cheer to local children and families during the holidays.
Zephyrhills businesses and organizations collaborate productively to grow together, and benefit our
community as the city itself expands.

“I am so proud of how each of our members works together for the best good. Every decision that is made, every event that is scheduled, every detail that is considered and planned is all for the benefit and betterment of others. Zephyrhills is a town that truly believes the motto ‘a rising tide lifts all boats’, and I’m so honored to be at the Chamber to see it all first-hand.”
