Courthouse Museum Presents Elvis Trivia Night
On Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at 6:00 pm, the Old Courthouse Heritage Museum will host an Elvis Trivia Night — complete with tour and interactive brain game featuring questions all about “The King.”
Courthouse Museum Presents Elvis Trivia Night
Elvis Trivia Night is a CCHS fundraiser and takes place the evening before the start of Elvis: The Summer Festival – four days of Elvis tribute artists from all over the world performing at the fairgrounds in Inverness – though it is not an official festival event.
The historic courtroom in the museum is the site where Elvis filmed the movie, “Follow That Dream” in 1961
Museum staff and Citrus County Historical Society (CCHS) volunteers work hard every day to keep our local history, including the Elvis stories, alive with museum visitors.
For instance, did you know that Tom Petty met Elvis during the filming, which was what inspired him to
become a rockstar? Tidbits like this and more might show up in the game.
Trivia night participants should study up on their Elvis facts and bring a smartphone – the game requires
it. Tickets are $10 and include soft drinks and hors d’oeuvres. The event will include a raffle and silent
auction of Elvis items. To register, call (352) 341-6428, or visit www.cccourthouse.org/events.
Arrive early to see the temporary “Pirates of Florida” historical exhibit, which opened on Saturday, May
6 and will be on display through July 29. The exhibit contains examples and replicas of what Spanish
coins and pirate treasure looked like, along with weaponry the pirates would have used and more. The
Old Courthouse also houses a permanent exhibit of the earliest history of the area.
