Dade City Police continue spreading Christmas Cheer to Community

By Florida's Original NatureCoaster™ Posted on December 18, 2019

The Dade City Police Department is overwhelmed by the positive public response received from their Operation Blue Christmas Walmart Layaway payoff held this past Monday. It was such a joy to bring happiness to so many through these acts of kindness.

They entered the second phase of Operation Blue Christmas on Thursday, December 12th. In this phase, Dade City police officers – at their own discretion and ingenuity – are handing out gift cards to spread the joy even further throughout the community.

During traffic stops, citizen contacts, calls for service or random street encounters, officers will present $50.00 Visa gift cards that recipients may use to stretch their wallets a bit through the Christmas holidays.

Generous Donations of Community Members

“Made possible through the generous donations of community members through the Dade City Police Foundation, the funds distributed through the Blue Christmas Holiday Campaign provide a wonderful opportunity for our officers to interact with our citizens in very meaningful ways wherever they meet them – no questions asked”, said Chief James Walters.

It is only through the generous donations to the Dade City Police Foundation that these activities are possible. Anyone wishing to donate to support the Foundation please go to www.dadecitypolicefoundation.mydagsite.com.

Dade City Police Operation Blue Christmas continues

The third phase of Operation Blue Christmas, the Shop-with-a-Cop program, will be held on Friday, December 20th, from 3:00-6:00 PM. The Police Department will be hosting local children, identified by their schools, with a shopping spree at the local Walmart.

The officers and children will then return to the department for gift wrapping, a pizza party and a visit from a jolly “special guest”.
