Dates Extended for Citrus County Animal Services “Empty the Shelters” Event

Citrus County Animal Services (CCAS) is partnering with BISSELL Pet Foundation to “Empty the Shelters” from Monday, May 2 through Sunday, May 15, 2022.

Dates Extended for Citrus County Animal Services “Empty the Shelters” Event

This event has been extended by one week, allowing more opportunities for shelter pets to find loving homes.

  • CCAS, located at Airport Rd, Inverness, FL will be open regular hours Thursday – Saturday both weeks, with special opening hours on Sundays and Mondays for the “Empty the Shelters” event.
  • All adoption fees will be waived during the event – county residents pay just $10 for pet license.

“Empty the Shelters,” BISSELL Pet Foundation’s largest program, began in 2016 as an effort to encourage more families to adopt a pet into their home. More than 83,000 pets have found adoptive homes through this reduced-fee adoption event. Since its inception, this lifesaving event has expanded to organizations in 45 states and Canada, partnering with a total of 443 animal welfare organizations.
