On Monday, January 4, 2021, the Famous Americans Dementia Education Photo Exhibit will open for a one-month presentation in the foyer of the Central Ridge Library, 425 W Roosevelt Blvd., in Beverly Hills, Florida.

Dementia Education Photo Exhibit to open at Central Ridge Library

The exhibit will include 24 portraits of famous American authors, artists, actors, comedians, singers, politicians, and athletes who have succumbed to Alzheimer’s disease of other forms of dementia.  The purpose of the exhibit is to drive home the fact that no one is immune to dementia, and to promote an open and honest discussion about how we must respond to fatal brain disorders that are expected to more than double in our population by 2050.

Today, there are an estimated 6,500 individuals in Citrus County living with dementia; a number that is projected to grow to more than 15,000 over the next 30 years.

The exhibit is sponsored by Coping with Dementia LLC and displayed at public venues on behalf of Dementia Education, Inc., a Citrus County-based nonprofit that creates publications and programs to support families and individuals living with dementia.
