Our local food pantries often find their stock of non-perishable food items depleted after the holidays.

Nature Coast Volunteer Center Hosts Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service Food Drive

The Nature Coast Volunteer Center (NCVC) and AmeriCorps Seniors Retired & Senior Volunteer Program
(RSVP) is holding a food drive in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr., who once asked, “What are you doing
for others?” Our goal is to help our local food pantries serve the citizens of Citrus County by providing
nutritional food for their families.

Donations can be dropped off at any Citrus County library or community center, or at either Citrus County
Tax Collector’s Office, and will be collected through Tuesday, January 17, 2023. In addition, the NCVC
will host a “Drive Thru Donation” event on January 17 at the Central Ridge Community Center, located
at 77 Civic Circle in Beverly Hills.

All donations should be in cans, boxes, plastic containers, or sealed packages.

Suggested donation items include:
• Peanut Butter
• Whole Grain Pasta
• Pasta Sauces
• Whole Grain Oats and Cereal
• Brown Rice
• Canned Tuna & Chicken in water
• Canned Fruits in natural juices
• Canned Vegetables in water
• Canned Soup (low sodium preferred)
For more information, please contact the NCVC at (352) 527-5959 or ncvc@citrusbocc.com.
