The Loquat Festival is a celebration of the New Port Richey food-system, and the fruits and vegetables that thrive here, like the other seasonal food festivals organized by New Port Richey FarmNet. In this case, it is the high-yield, easy to grow, and delicious Loquat.
The Loquat Festival is March 18, at France Ave Park on Louisiana Ave. in New Port Richey (10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.).
It is the only Loquat Festival in the United States.
The festival would not be possible without the caring donations of folks who have loquat trees on their property – and without the commitment of dedicated volunteers to harvest the fruit. An important part of the Florida Loquat Festival is fruit harvesting.
