Meet in the parking lot at 13489 Government Road, Brooksville. From U. S. 41, turn east on Deer Run Road. At the intersection with Government Road, go straight in the right lane. (Don’t depend on your GPS; it might lead you to the wrong entrance.)
Along the 1.5-mile trail through sandhill and hardwood hammock and a powerline right-of-way, expect to see American Kestrel, Bachman’s Sparrow, Eastern Bluebird, hawks, woodpeckers, other woodland bird species, and butterflies.
