Female Veterans Support Group meets monthly in Citrus County

A growing group of like-minded female veterans representing every branch of the US Armed Forces through all wars from WWII to present has begun meeting the second Thursday of every month at 1:00 p.m. at the Citrus County Resource Center, 2804 W Marc Knighton Ct in Lecanto, Florida.

Their goal is to have a place to gather and discuss whatever is on our minds and how to not only help female veterans in need, but also how to be involved in the community.

Presently, this group is working to create a Female Veterans Monument. Supporters are welcome and invited to meetings. More information is available at FemaleVeteransNetwork.org.

“We are not going backward, we are going forward. There are over 1,500 female veterans in Citrus county. The experiences we have had in the past have made us what we are.  Our experiences have made us stronger and serve to help others when they go through similar experiences,” says Carole Jasler, a member of the Female Veterans Network.
