Fort Island Gulf Beach Boat Ramp Reopens After Hurricane Damage

By Florida's Original NatureCoaster™ Posted on November 18, 2023

Citrus County Parks & Recreation is pleased to announce that the boat ramp at Fort Island Gulf Beach (located at 16000 W Fort Island Trail) will reopen on Thursday, November 16, 2023.

Fort Island Gulf Beach Boat Ramp Reopens After Hurricane Damage

During Hurricane Idalia, the ramp’s floating dock was taken away with the storm surge, along with sections of safety railings. Unfortunately, without the floating dock, boaters were unable to safely enter and exit their vessels. The floating dock has been replaced and the railings repaired.

The Fort Island Gulf Fishing Pier and Boardwalk remain closed until further inspections can be completed and required repairs made.
