Friends of the Library Seek Donations

The Friends of the Citrus County Library System are active again at their book house; sorting, pricing and packing books.

Friends of the Library Seek Donations

The volunteers are all masked up and glad to be back in business after being closed during Florida’s “Safer at Home” phase. Now they are seeking donations of gently used books, CD’s, DVD’s, puzzles, and games for their next sale. The group is staying flexible in regards to when and where the next sale will be held, due to the uncertainties we are all experiencing at this time, but have several options and hope to finalize their plans by mid-summer. You can like the group on Facebook (facebook.com/foccls) to keep up with the latest news.

Money raised at the book sales is a direct benefit to Citrus Libraries and helps with the purchase of new materials for the collection, support for programs and events throughout the year, and other items including equipment. Profits from the Spring sale allowed the Coastal, Central Ridge, Lakes and Floral City Friends to donate over $17,000 to the Library System.

Donations can be dropped off at any of the five library branches, Monday through Friday, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. When donating several boxes of materials, it is helpful to call ahead so a staff member can assist in unloading your vehicle. The Friends need materials that are clean, dry, and in overall good condition. Some items are not desirable, so use discretion when donating items such as computer guides and investment materials more than three years old. Please NO encyclopedias, magazines, VHS tapes or cassettes.
