Good Neighbor Trail extension Opens in Brooksville

By Florida's Original NatureCoaster™ Posted on November 22, 2018

A ribbon cutting was held Wednesday, November 14, 2018, 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Old Train Depot located at 70 Russell Street in Brooksville, to celebrate the completion of the extension to the Good Neighbor Trail. This extension connects the trail from Weatherly Road through to the Withlacoochee State Forest. The trail begins in downtown Brooksville, south of Russell Street, in what was once a railroad switching yard, and runs east to the Withlacoochee State Forest. The Good Neighbor Trail is also a link in the Coast to Coast Connector, a growing trail network stretching 275 miles across the state from Cape Canaveral to downtown St. Petersburg.

The event recognized the hard work and dedication of everyone involved to make the vision of this asset into a reality for Hernando County.
