Grand Living at Citrus Hills, located at 850 West Norvell Bryant Highway in Hernando, Florida, has announced a new educational series entitled “Understanding Dementia and Memory Care” that will be free and open to the public.

Debbie Selsavage, a Certified Dementia Practitioner, a columnist for the Citrus County Chronicle, and President of the Alzheimer’s Family Organization will facilitate the series.  She explains, “Each month I will present information on a specific topic related to dementia and memory care, then encourage an open discussion that will include questions and answers.”  She adds, “This will not be a lecture where I talk and others listen.  It will involve sharing information in a welcoming environment where we will learn from each other by discussing dementia and memory care in plain, understandable language.”

Grand Living Senior Executive Director Terri Osteen states, “As a provider of memory care in a secured unit, we are very excited about the opportunity to host this educational series because it is consistent with our mission to contribute to the community in which we live and work.”

The Grand Living series will run from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. beginning on April 12, 2018 where the first topic will be “What are the early signs of dementia?” Topics for future meetings will be announced.  Admission is free and light refreshments will be provided.  For more information, call Grand Living at 352-301-8500.
