The tides will be spread out (late evening and early) so this is what I like to do. Tides in our area are hard to figure out because one the Nature Coast is very shallow and any weather event or moon phase can impact the amount of tide we receive, both low and high.

West of marker #2 off of Homosassa the tide can turn in as much as 2 or 3 hours before it is visible at the mouth of the river.

On the inshore side, I like to use the St. Martins Keys as the dividing line between chasing down an incoming tide.

In Crystal River bay, the tide will be an hour ahead of the St. Martins Keys and so will the Chassahowitzka Bay. After these two bays start to fill up, they flood back onto the St. Martins Keys.

This is the formula I use to figure out where to be at the right time to catch fish.
