Homosassa Inshore Fishing Report with Captain Toney

By Captain William Toney Posted on February 18, 2020

Looking at a possible windy weekend ahead could put the brakes on an offshore run where anglers are catching some nice mangrove snappers. In the 18- to 30-foot depths are also some hogfish, sheepshead, and grunts to bend the rod. Live shrimp is the best bait.

On the shallow side, there are still some sheepshead on the nearshore rocks. The surrounding stone crab trap lines have had a few triple tail hanging around the buoys. With the warm weather, expect there to be more showing up in our future.

Trout fishing along the points on the incoming tide has been very good with the chance of picking up redfish and snook in the same spot.

High incoming tide will be late morning this weekend.
