The Inverness Sertoma Club is a fully qualified, charitable organization, functioning to implement National Sertoma’s principal objective of expanding “SERVICE TO MANKIND”, primarily in the area of helping people with speech, hearing, and related communication disorders.

Inverness Sertoma Club Recognized for 40 Years of Service

The Inverness Sertoma Club, chartered September 26, 1980,  was honored by the Inverness City Council on September 15 at their regular meeting and by the Citrus County Board of County Commissioners on September 22 at their regular meeting for forty years of striving to extend evaluated and therapeutic communicative disorder programs where none presently exist and increasing local public understanding of the importance of human communication.

Inverness Sertoma Club works hard throughout the year to give monetarily and with their time to support the audio assessment and testing mobile unit travels to preschools and daycare center throughout the Tampa Region including Citrus County; Camp Endeavor, a 501c3 summer camp for deaf and hard of hearing children; Kids Deaf Baseball Camp at the Villages; Sertoma Youth Ranch, which provides youth groups from all over Florida the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors at no charge, including physically and mentally challenged children.

And of course, the Club gives back right here in Citrus County in many ways including providing hearing aids to citizens in need, donations to the Inverness Boy Scout Troop for Jamboree scholarships and Eagle Projects, along with our Citrus County School District by adopting classrooms each year and providing funding for supplies.

Saturday, November 21, 2020 is the date set for the annual Inverness Sertoma Golf Tournament “Golf for Kids” at Citrus Hills Golf and Country Club, the Oaks Course. Club members are appreciative of forty years of financial support given by the business and citizens of Inverness and Citrus County.
