Inverness Sertoma Club has the rare honor of having a local member serving on the Sertoma National Board of Directors. Walter “Bud” Osborn serves as a member of the Sertoma National board of directors in Kansas City, Missouri for a three-year term. In this position he will be responsible setting policies and procedures for Sertoma clubs throughout the nation.

Inverness Sertoman Elected to National Board

The national board consists of eight other directors from different areas around the country. “Bud” has been a member of the Inverness Sertoma Club for the past seventeen years and has been involved in club leadership projects along with serving on the Sertoma Regional Board. He serves on the board of Sertoma supported Camp Endeavor, a summer camp for deaf and hearing-impaired children, Sertoma Youth Ranch, and locally, the Citrus County Historic Advisory Board, the Citrus County Veterans Advisory Board and the Too Far organization, dedicated to protecting our precious natural water resources.

“As a past local business owner I believe giving back monetarily is important, but even more important is giving of your time, talents and expertise to better your community,” said Bud. “We all have skills; folks just need to get out there and find their niche.”

The Inverness Sertoma Club raises funds to assist children and adults that have hearing difficulties along with supporting other local community needs. The major fundraiser for the club will be the 34th annual Golf 4 Kids Tournament Fundraiser at Citrus Hills Golf and Country Club on Sunday, November 24, 2019. Foursomes and sponsorships are still available. To golf contact Bud at budandnanci@tampabay.rr.com .
