Join Pasco County’s Inaugural HERricane Summer Camp
It’s never too early to get involved and give back to your community! Pasco County Emergency Management is inviting high school students to take part in our inaugural HERricane program this summer.
HERricane is a FREE, week-long program developed in Arlington County, Virginia, that gives young women in grades 9-12 the opportunity to explore emergency management-related careers.
WHO: The HERricane program is open to young women enrolled in a Pasco County High School in August 2023 (i.e., incoming 9th grade students are welcome to apply).
WHEN: Monday, July 17 – Friday, July 21 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
WHERE: Pasco County Emergency Operations Center

APPLY NOW: Interested students should apply no later than Friday, June 16, 2023. You can fill out the application, which includes a short essay question, by clicking here. Students under 18 will need a parental/legal guardian’s signature.
HERricane will include multiple sessions and activities with speakers from Emergency Management, Media Relations & Communications, Fire Rescue, Emergency Services (911), Corrections, Pasco Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Department of Health. Participating students will receive Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) certification upon program completion, and the program will count toward volunteer hours.
