Mandatory health and safety procedures at Hernando County Courthouse

In accordance with Fifth Judicial Circuit Administrative Order A-2020-12-F, the following health and safety procedures have been implemented at the Hernando County Courthouse, located at 20 N. Main Street in Brooksville, until further notice.

Health Screenings

  • All members of the public entering the courthouse shall undergo health screening with a required temperature check. Persons who have a fever of 100.4 degrees or greater or answer affirmatively to any of the health screening questions, shall not be permitted to enter the facility. Alternative arrangements should be made for this person, such as handling their business over the phone, rescheduling a hearing or other means as appropriate

Social Distancing

  • Persons must maintain 6 feet of social distancing from each other while waiting to enter the courthouse and during their stay at the courthouse

Face Coverings

  • Face coverings are required for everyone entering the courthouse building, with no exceptions. Face coverings shall be worn at all times throughout the public areas of the courthouse building, including inside the courtroom
  • Judges and court staff, as well as other constitutional officers and their staff with offices in the courthouse, do not have to wear a face mask covering in their private chambers or office
  • If visitors do not have a face covering, one shall be provided to them at no cost

  • Residents should monitor trusted sources of information such as the Florida Department of Health (FDOH) website at www.FloridaHealth.gov/COVID-19 and the CDC website at www.CDC.gov to learn the facts and to follow recommendations to prevent the spread of disease
