Meeting of the Minds Call to Artists

Art created as a combination of techniques and intelligences in an effort to work together. “Meeting of the Minds”

As we move into yet another new year, we recognize that significant cultural communication means reaching out to our neighbors, listening to one another, and working together to create unique, new experiences and works of art! This show is about collaboration. It mixes media, people, and ideas.

We invite artists to submit 1-3 pieces to this show that focuses on creative collaboration. Draw inspiration from something or somewhere new. Work on a piece with your art teacher or friend who works in another medium. Call an artist whose work fits well with yours from the next town over and see if you could make individual pieces that complement each other. Coordinate with other creatives to create artwork that speaks to the importance of discussing your art and what it means to you, working together, and exposing yourself to different themes and mediums.

This final show of the year, Meeting of the Minds, asks you to pay tribute to the undeniable talent and culture of the arts throughout Central Florida.

The artwork must be submitted by October 6, 2023 (deadline for submissions), between 10:30am and 2:30pm at the City of Brooksville.. ALL mediums are welcome, including 3-d, glass, and digital art. Display cases  available to display items such as jewelry, fine glass, or sculpture.

All 2-D artwork must be gallery ready to hang, with a wire securely attached to the back. 2 sets of display cards per piece, one for the back of the piece for identification and one to be displayed. Information on the display cards include: title of piece, medium, artist, and price. If the piece is not for sale, then print “NFS”. Student work is welcome.

The artwork images must be submitted for approval prior to arrival at the Gallery. Images must be emailed to cityart@brooksville.us by Tuesday October 3, 2023

The pick-up/dropoff date: September 29, 2023 – October 6, 2023

Reception: Friday October 13, 2023 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm

Duration: October 13, 2023 – January 5, 2024
