Hernando Audubon Society Meeting is Thursday, February 28. Come celebrate our 60th anniversary! Program about Wintering Hummingbirds in Florida. Several varieties of hummingbirds that breed in the Western states spend their winters in Florida. Since 2001, speaker Fred Dietrich has been involved in trapping and banding hummingbirds in Florida. In 2010 a Rufous Hummingbird that Fred banded in Tallahassee was recaptured that June 3500 miles away in Chenaga Bay, Alaska. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the Community Activities Center, 205 E. Ft. Dade Avenue, Brooksville. Information: Bev Hansen, 352-686-0460, bevalhansen@gmail.com
