Statement of Purpose:
This is an online magazine dedicated to the enjoyment of Florida’s Nature Coast. We believe this area of the world is a special place, where nature is prevalent in the environment, and small businesses are the predominant employers in small town environs. Through coverage of community news, an in-depth calendar of events, a large business directory and weekly feature stories, we seek to connect the world with the best of Florida’s Nature Coast.
Editorial Policies:
We will achieve this purpose through publication of community news for Pasco, Hernando, and Citrus Counties in the State of Florida. This news will consist of press releases acquired through the area’s County and City public information officers, as well as through local businesspeople and nonprofit organizations.
A weekly feature story will be published on Thursdays. These features will be in-depth stories about local events, activities, businesses, nonprofits, and other related topics of a positive nature. These stories will be written by our contributing journalists, including award-winning writers. They will be edited by our Publisher for content and fact-checked through online sources, phone calls and in-person visits as needed for accuracy and voice.
We do not cover political or crime news. As an apolitical voice, we seek to unify our readership in the pursuit and interaction with our environment.
Ethics:
We honor truth. We seek to unify through positive messages and coverages of the good happening in this part of the world.
Our feature journalists are paid for their stories and provide photos to accompany said work. We provide photo credits and will also utilize copyright-free images to keep our content looking good.
Paid Content, Outside Writers and Contributions:
This is a local publication. We do not accept outside contributions that link to unknown websites. We do feature some local experts with regular columns that link to their websites. These experts are known, and we partner to provide quality information to our readers and easy connections to these experts.
We do have paid content from local advertisers and partners that is demarcated by “Sponsored Post” next to the Author’s name. We also have paid display advertising.
This publication is funded through advertising and partnerships for local businesses, nonprofits and events.
