Citrus Friendship Quilters Guild Presents “Not Your Grandmother’s Quilt”

New Exhibit Opens at Old Courthouse Heritage Museum

“Not Your Grandmother’s Quilt,” a fun and colorful look at some quilts that might surprise your grandmother, is now open at the Old Courthouse Heritage Museum, in downtown Inverness.

This temporary exhibit, presented by Citrus Friendship Quilters Guild, features an unconventional and
artistic array of quilts, and runs through April inside the John Murray Davis rotating gallery.

The museum will also host the guild as they present, “Fun with Quilts” on Thursday, March 28 th at 12:30
pm. This free event is open to the community, and includes a panel discussion about the historical and
economic significance of quilts from ancient times to the present.

Visitors are encouraged to bring a quilt or two for their own “Show and Tell” to add to the discussion. Light refreshments will be served.

While the event is free, seats are limited, and guests are required to make reservations in advance
by calling the museum office between Tuesday and Saturday at (352) 341-6428.
