The Hernando County Department of Public Safety is pleased to announce that Hernando County’s Division of Emergency Management now has their own Facebook page.

This page was created to be the official and direct source for all disaster related information impacting the residents of Hernando County.  “Residents can rest assured that Hernando County Emergency Management will have the most up to date information to keep residents prepared and informed of pending storms”, said David M. DeCarlo, Hernando County’s Director of Emergency Management.  “It’s important to keep abreast of how to prepare, respond, recover, and mitigate from either a man-made or natural disaster.”

Director DeCarlo encourages people to like and follow their newly created page as content for preparedness for the upcoming 2024 hurricane season is forthcoming   Hurricane season begins June 1 and runs through November 30.  Early predictions from forecasters alludes to an above average hurricane season as the potential for a La Nina season looms.  Hernando County Emergency Management will also have an Instagram account that will correspond with their new Facebook page.
