Hernando Audubon Pot Luck Dinner and PowerPoint Program, Thursday, November 16, 6 p.m.

Bring a side dish to share and your own place setting. After dinner, members will show photos of their favorite birds that they saw this year. Hernando Audubon Birding and Biking on the Withlacoochee Trail, Saturday, November 4

Meet at 8 a.m. at Lake Townsen Preserve Park, 28011 Lake Lindsey Road, Brooksville. We will bike about 6 miles south before returning. This beautiful section passes through forests and fields, where we will stop periodically to look for birds. You must make a reservation with Claudia: camsler36@gmail.com or 813-244-0305.

Hernando Audubon Birding Trip to Crews Lake Wilderness Park (Pasco County), Friday, November 10

Meet at 8 a.m. in the pier parking lot near the lake. Crews Lake Wilderness Park is at 16739 Crews Lake Drive in north central Pasco County. This 113-acres park has 2.5 miles of walking trails, as well as a long sightseeing/fishing pier. We’ll walk about 1.5 miles on the pier, on the trail along the lake shore, and then a wooded trail. We expect to see the resident Sandhill Cranes, wading birds, woodpeckers, and songbirds. Contact Linda: text 352-428-2629 or lindalark85@gmail.com.

Hernando Audubon Kayaking Trip on Chassahowitzka River, Thursday, November 16

Meet at 8:00 a.m. at the parking lot of the Chassahowitzka River Campground near the boat launch. The campground is located south of Homosassa Springs and west of U.S. 19 at 8600 W. Miss Maggie Drive, in Citrus County. We will kayak the river for approximately two hours and expect to see various herons and egrets as well as Limpkins and Ospreys. If lucky, we may also see manatees and river otters, which are always a highlight of this trip. Hernando Audubon Beginning Birding, 8 to 11 a.m. on Friday, November 24.

Meet on the deck behind the building at Chinsegut Conservation Center, 23212 Lake Lindsey Road, Brooksville. Learn to identify birds at feeders and during a short walk. There will be binoculars available for use. For information, contact Linda: lindalark85@gmail.com or text 352-428-2629.
