Chasco 2021

One Year Later, Downtown NPR is Stronger than Ever

By Posted on March 31, 2021

Covid has caused us to worry about the health and safety of our loved ones. It’s caused our kids to miss out on friendships and milestones.

Meanwhile, our events, parties, festivals, and parades have all disappeared. Frankly, we could’ve done without it.

But as vaccines roll out and the infection rate drops, we are seeing things return to (dare we say it…) a sense of normalcy. March 2021 saw so many great events in New Port Richey, and we are grateful to finally get the ball rolling again!

Yappy Hour

With the launch of our Downtown Dogs’ Club, we are pleased to say that Yappy Hour is a hit!

Our first Yappy Hour took place at Dented Keg Ale Works, where a furry flurry of paws and snouts enjoyed endless attention from patrons. It was a great time helping a local business and meeting fellow downtown dogs!

Our second event took place in partnership with the Florida English Bulldog Rescue at The Social NPR. We raised money to help foster and rescue these beautiful pups and continued to grow our group!

End of the Rainbow Pub Crawl

New Port Richey Main Street has done it again! Thank you NPRMS for hosting a safe, fun, socially-distanced outdoor pub crawl!

Folks had a blast dressing up in their St Patty’s Day finest and finding the golden lager at the end of the rainbow!

Chasco Fiesta Pow Wow

No single event means more to the New Port Richey community than the annual Chasco Fiesta. This tradition started before the city itself.

  • Chasco 2021

Chasco is a time to celebrate our community and the rich Native Americans culture that predates us. This year, without the full 10-day festival, the Chasco Committee surprised the community with a three-day pow wow! It was an amazing celebration of Native dance, history, culture and cuisine!

Lis’s Pieces Art & Craft Walk

What can we say about Lis’s Pieces spectacular Arts & Crafts Walk? It was phenomenal! A huge success by all accounts, this event brought folks in by the busload to explore and shop in our historic downtown!
