No matter how many cattle you own or manage, the genetics of the herd can greatly affect the profitability, health and performance of your operation.  To help, the UF/IFAS Pasco County Cooperative Extension Service Livestock Program is offering an Improving Your Beef Cattle seminar.

WHAT: Improving Your Beef Cattle – increase health, profitability and performance.

WHEN: July 30, 2019 – 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

WHERE: Pasco Extension, Clayton Hall

Cattle owners will learn how to use performance data, including expected progeny difference and indexes, as well as physical traits to choose bulls and replacement heifers for their herd.  Breed differences will also be discussed and participants will learn how yield and quality grade is determined in market cattle.  This will essentially be a livestock judging class for adults!
