Pet of the Week – Dixie and Gator

By Meaghan Goepferich Posted on January 2, 2023

Dixie (ID: A002440) is a quiet, well-mannered girl looking for the love of her life. She is about 6 years old and 55 pounds. This sweetheart likes to be in your lap and be hugged. She gets along best with other gentle dogs, preferring to cruise around the yard rather than play. Dixie walks well on a leash, sits and shakes on command, and takes treats gently. Make an appointment with Pasco County Animal Services today to meet her and you won’t regret it!

Don’t let his gray face fool you! Gator (ID: A000402) has a playful spirit and plenty of pep in his step. This 6-year-old weighs about 55 pounds. He likes to sniff and explore, and he loves butt scratches. This sweet guy knows the sit, stay and come commands, and he takes treats gently. He sometimes pulls on a leash, though — he’s just so eager to get going! Gator may do best as an only pet, and he can be reactive toward people and animals on a leash. However, he’s great with people out in the yard. With some training, he may learn to be a model citizen! If you’re up to the challenge, make an appointment today with Pasco County Animal Services to meet Gator.
