Pine Island Park gets new playground equipment

The Hernando County Parks and Recreation Department recently replaced aging playground equipment at Alfred McKethan/Pine Island Park. The new equipment is now installed and the park will reopen to the public on Thursday, December 21, 2017.

Alfred McKethan/Pine Island Park, located at 10800 Pine Island Drive in Weeki Wachee, is a three-acre park that sits on the Gulf of Mexico. This park includes a beach, swimming area, picnic tables, shelters, barbecue grills, observation point, volleyball court, playground and concession stand. It is open to the public Monday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to sunset.
