Contractors hired by Citrus County Parks & Recreation have completed repairs and maintenance on the boat docks at Hernando Beach, located at 3650 E Lake Place in Hernando.

Repairs Complete at Hernando Beach Boat Ramp

Construction began on Monday, August 29, 2022, and is now complete. Parks & Recreation was able to work with the contractor to always keep one ramp open during the repairs. 

Work performed included removing and disposing of railings, decking, framing, and supports on three existing piers and docks. New supports, framing, and decking were installed. Changes include the removal of railing on the left side dock to allow safer temporary mooring of boats and make room for launching or loading of boats. Additionally, the center dock has been extended back to its original length, which had been shortened as the marine lumber deteriorated over the years. Repairs were made with composite material, which should combat deterioration and will have a much longer life expectancy.
